Home Rule Charter Ballot Questions
Little Compton voters will decide on proposed Home Rule Charter amendments this November. Review the full text of each ballot question before you vote.
CHARTER AMENDMENT ARTICLE I INCORPORATION AND POWERS OF THE TOWN
Shall Article I, Sections 102 and 103 be amended to specify that the Town shall comply with all ordinances, regulations and state and federal law, as well as include that the sale or lease of real and intangible property be approved by the Financial Town meeting and that Town- owned property must be maintained in compliance with current local and state building codes?
CHARTER AMENDMENT ARTICLE II ELECTIONS
Shall Article II, Section 202 be amended to include a six-year term for alternate members to the Board of Canvassers?
CHARTER AMENDMENT ARTICLE III FINANCIAL PROCEDURES
Shall Article III, Sections 301 and 306 be amended to specify how monies can be expended from the unassigned portion of the general fund, including revised oversight and guidelines of the general fund as well as setting an earlier date to submit citizen strokes, set review requirements of citizen stroke requests and include language for compliance with the state maximum tax levy law as well as authorize the Board of Canvassers to designate the time for voters to be admitted to the Financial Town Meeting?
