George Crowell

George Crowell is a longtime Little Compton resident with a deep respect for the traditions of New England town government and a genuine commitment to civic participation. As a candidate for Town Moderator, George brings a steady, impartial hand to one of the most unique and important roles in Rhode Island's local democracy.

The Town Moderator presides over Little Compton's Annual and Special Town Meetings — the cornerstone of our community's self-governance. The Moderator's role is to ensure that every meeting is conducted fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with proper parliamentary procedure, so that every resident has an equal opportunity to be heard.

George believes that the Town Meeting is one of the most powerful expressions of democracy in America, and that the Moderator must be a neutral, respected presence who keeps debate focused and productive. His priorities include running well-organized meetings, applying the rules of order consistently and fairly, and fostering an environment where all voices — regardless of political affiliation — are treated with dignity and respect.

George is honored to be endorsed by the Little Compton Republican Town Committee as part of the 2026 Republican slate. He looks forward to serving all residents of Little Compton in this important role.
